Beretta UGB25 Xcel Trap Shotguns

The Beretta semiautomatic UGB25 Xcel features
an innovative locking system with break-open barrel that allows
operation in complete safety during competitions. Unlike conventional
fixed-barrel semiautomatic shotguns, this new type of break-open
design enables the shooter to move from one firing station
to another while allowing others to see the gun clearly in
"safe" mode with an open action. The second round is not hidden
from view inside the magazine tube, but is always visible
in its side cartridge carrier. The low-set single barrel offers
the advantage of maintaining the same point of impact of the
second shot exactly in line with that of the first shot, thus
ensuring excellent performance.

Short Barrel Recoil
The operating principle of the Beretta break-open semiautomatic UGB25 Xcel is based on short barrel recoil, which keeps the internal parts of the gun clean even after prolonged use. The short recoil and the low barrel axis position almost completely compensate for muzzle jump during firing, with quicker and easier re-alignment of the barrel on the target for the next shot. The exclusive use of special spring dampers on the barrel monobloc allows, when shooting, to dissipate in heat a part of the barrel kinetic energy, decreasing the stress for the parts and in the meantime increasing the shotgun life. The reliability of the operation system is constantly guaranteed by varying the powerful of the new 12 ga. (2 ¾ in.) factory-loaded cartridges, manufactured to industry specifications.
Reduced Felt Recoil
Felt recoil is minimized by: the recoil absorbing short recoil operation system and the Beretta Gel•Tek recoil pad. The low barrel axis position greatly reduces muzzle jump when firing.
Receiver
The Beretta break-open semiautomatic UGB25 Xcel features the unmistakable touch of Giugiaro Design. The ergonomically rounded back of the light alloy receiver fits smoothly into the stock, allowing quick and instinctive target acquisition.
The streamlined receiver and the newly-designed fore-end with its extended checkered configuration combine to give the Beretta UGB25 Xcel an extremely attractive look.
The cross locking bolt of the break-open barrel is located at the top near the back. On the left is the opening lever and on the right the cartridge carrier and the second cartridge feeding port.
The ejection port is located underneath.
Trigger Plate
The trigger plate is made entirely of high-strength fiberglass-reinforced technopolymer and features self-lubrication of the firing mechanism, good vibration absorption and thermal stability for improved “feel” in cold weather. It is designed specifically to optimize the ergonomics. The safety button is in the standard position (for right-handed use), but it may be reversed for left-handed use by an authorized Beretta gunsmith or by the Beretta Customer Service.
