I\'m no expert on night vision but I was impressed with the overall quality. It came with a heavy duty nylon bag with a velcro edged seperator section for the infrared illuminator . I was surprised at the reticle and image sharpness, considering it is a generation I unit. The 2,5X field of view was just what I had hoped, wide. Reticle was easy to adjust for whatever brightness you need. I have not tried the infrared - worked well without it, in low or little light . Very easy to mount and adjust on my Kel-Tec SU16A. I had to shop around to find one, they seem in short supply and the price was the best I could find.
