The down side to this is no bayonet lug and only a 150 yard and 300 yard flip site. My old one has a windage and left right adjustment. I purchased the carbine and was very dissapointed with its performance. At 100 yards it was all over the target and would notstriking low left. I made some visual adjustments and was able to hit center twice after burning 60 rounds. I also had a 9mm marlin camp with me and was able to hit bullseye at 100 yards with no problem. The other draw back is it will not advance a round into the chamber using pre-ban mags. It chambers a round into the barrel but dry fires. I had to load one round manually at a time. Unless this is a \"Monday Morning\" piece, thumbs down all the way. My gunsmith is looking at it and will send it back for repair or replacement. Better off contacting a company like Orion 7 Enterprises to get a real M1 that has been restored.
