I own this pistol now but have problems with it jamming or misfiring with the 22 LR. I'm thinking of trying the 25 shorts for better results... |

The previous reviewer made mention of a pistol that he purchased 41 years ago! I have the current model 21A and the Jetfire. Both of them are .25 caliber. They are very tempermental pistols and really don't handle hollowpoints well at all. They are very dependant on cleanliness!! They'll end up being "Jamomatics" if you let them get dirty. I generally can't get a box of 50 through either one without a jam. Once dirty it's damn near impossible to get the pop up barrel mechanism to function properly.
So should you decide to go ahead and buy one anyway, I'd suggest (as I do) using only FMJ ammunition and carry a can of the synthetic Gun Scrubber Spray. Spray the crud out of the pistol every 20 to 30 rounds to keep it working properly. I mention using the synthetic brand of Gun Scrubber because the regular brand will melt the black plastic grips! I hope this has helped you with your decision. By the way, the .25acp is the weakest self defense on the market. A pure waste of money, really. I bought mine when I was just starting out and didn't know any better. I thought the small size was more important than the power at the time! Live and learn!! They're better than nothing and serve a purpose for LEO's or private citizens that need a deeply concealed back up gun. If you're going to depend on the .25acp for your primary self defense gun, you'd be wise to place your first shot between your adversary's eyes!!.. |

I purchased this pistol in 1968 for $ 75.00 I sold it several years ago for much more and have regreted it ever since. You can't find a better foolproof small bore hard hitting pistol, never had the slightest problem. I only used 25's but I guess 22 lr would be good too... |
