I purchased the shotgun today. I was taken by its beauty. The case hardened reciever is awesome. Frankly, I've never put this much emphasis on appearance. I had originally planned to buy the Silver Pigeon IV in 28 gauge with the same 28 inch barrels. I handled this one first by mistake, thinking it was a 28 gauge, it's that light and responsive. I promptly took it out to the skeet range after purchase and fired one round of skeet, 24 out of 25. It does recoil more than a heavier shotgun, but there is not doubt I'd pick it for a trip to far away places where the ammuntion supply was in question. I still love my 28 gauge Beretta Onyx Pro, but this gun is a contender for my favorite field gun. Now for some pheasant hunting!..
