I have an update on this ammo. The previous review I wrote noted 865 fps from a 3" S&W 696. That information was from 1998. Either I have finally broke in the 696 or CCI has changed their cocktail. The new stuff averaged 903 fps using the same 696 and Oehler chronograph! Either way I still love this combination of gun and ammo. Same performance with expansion, accuracy and no misfires or jams. This is some great stuff...

Very good round - accurate with no hangups or misfires. I use it as my primary self-defense round, and reload practice rounds to similar specs. I shoot a Charter Arms Bulldog with 2.5 inch barrel...

Very accurate in my S&W 696. From the 3 inch tube they clocked 865 fps over a chronograph. Fired into wet newspaper they left a massive wound channel and the recovered bullets retained about 98% of their weight. Recovered bullets measured an average .65 caliber. This is the only load I keep for defense now. I hand load a hard cast 240 grain SWC at 755 fps for practice and plinking. Did not experience any case sticking or jamming as I have read in other reviews. The aluminum cases may be more apt to stick in dirty chambers. Recommend the Blazers to anyone with a 44 mag or 44 spl for defense purposes...

This is a fine round for those who do not reload. However I must report that for some strange reason it hangs op the cylinder in me Charter Arms .44 bulldog. I complained to the manufacturer after only firing about five rounds. Blazer had me send them the balance of the ammo, one box, for examination. A week later they sent me 60 rounds of their brass cased ammo of the same Hp. ammo in exchange and it worked fine and grouped well. I never found out what the problem was with the aluminum cases but they sure treated me Right.

Great price and ok for plinking but had 2 misfires out of 50 in my S&W 629.
