Description
BROWNING
The Classic Sporting model features special engraving, with a Browning Buckmark
logo in the center, and a traditional-style walnut stock and forearm in
an oil finish. The advanced Cynergy design incorporates an ultra low profile
receiver and MonoLock hinge, reverse striker ignition system and mechanical
triggers with the lines of a traditional stock and forearm.

I have owned this model for about a year and a half now, and have come to know the gun quite well. After approximately 75,000 rounds of shells, the gun has finally losened up enough so that it is not an effort to open and close the action. If you are used to a Citori that just falls open, then you are not going to be happy with this gun. I have had others tell me that it takes about a year to break one of these guns in. What I do like about the gun is its balance and pointability and the low profile of the receiver. I also like the fact that it is easy to convert this gun to extractors from the ejectors. I have had no functional problems at all. Now what I don\'t like about this gun is the fact that the trigger pull is very heavy and creepy. In my opinion it coould stand a good trigger job to make it the equal of other brands in this price range. I would also like to see the stock a little more robust (fatter and thicker) like the Italian guns. The adjustable comb works well, but could stand a memory system. Now problems that I have had: Both the butt stock and the foreend wood have become loose. With the butt stock, it is a matter of taking off the adjustable comb to access the screw to tighten it up. It took a few minutes, but has seemed to have fixed the looseness problem. The forend wood is another matter. It has gotten loose at least three times, and the tiny Torx screws that tighten it up are very easy to strip out. I am talking about the screws that attach the iron to the wood. I am sure that it will get loose again and I will probably have to live with it. Lastly, not everybody will like the futuristic styling of this gun. At least it has a normal looking stock which is a big improvement over the earlier stocks. It doesn\'t even come close to resembling a Citori. The two guns could not be more different. Be sure to look at the gun or at least look at some very good photographs before you buy it. It is a bit different. Overall, after 18 months, I would rate this gun as an 8 out of 10. Would I buy it again? Probably. In my opinion, its biggest problem is the horrible, heavy, creepy triggers, but that can be fixed... |
