I bought the standard mounts for my wife's X-bolt in 30-06 to mount a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40. They were a breeze to install and the mounted scope looks great. A lot easier than bases and rings. I've not had it to the range yet to see if the lack of windage adjustment means anything, but it boresighed quite easily.
I read the prior review about the 44 mm optic touching the barrel -- based on the position of the 40mm optic and the standard rings, I'd suggest a higher ring for the larger optic...
