Federal Gold Medal Match ammunition is the standard by which all other manufactured ammunition is measured. Its consistency is legendary, and its only real competitors are Black Hills and Lapua. Point of Aim remains constant from box to box, and groups from good rifles measure in the one-half to three-quarter minute of angle range. Its major faults are its steadily rising cost and the limited number of vendors who keep it in stock. I recently shot a 3.75" group at 500 yards using the 168 grain bullet, a Savage 110, and a Burris scope...
