Federal Vital Shok 12 Ga. 3" 12 Pel. #00 Copper Plated Buck with Flitecontrol Wad

In a conventional wad, as soon as the wad leaves the barrel, it has petals that open up in the front and dispense the shot into a cloud so that the shot isn't protected in any way. With the FLITECONTROL wad, as soon as it exits the barrel, the shot is kept inside the wad. There are no slits in the shot cup portion and the shot is contained in the wad for an extended period of time, say anywhere up to 10 yards, depending on the configuration of the wad. What happens is the slitting in the overpowder [rear] section opens up and starts slowing the wad down. Instead of releasing the shot in a cloud, it starts slowly backing away from the tight shot string sitting inside the wad, and releases the shot that way. The biggest difference is that the FC wad is a rear-braking wad that pulls itself off the shot and conventional wads kind of "throw" the shot out there.

Patented spiral stacking process with plastic shot cup and buffering ensures dense patterns and a staggering blow. Federal Premium buckshot features copper plated shot that penetrates deep for devastating performance.

These shotgun shells are by far the best I have ever used. The Winchester model 12 that I have was purchased new by my father in 1955. He paid $250.00 for it and I could hardly lift it at the time. It makes a big noise and it kicks like crazy, but I have used it all of my life and I have absolute confidence in what it can do with me shooting it. The shells raise it to a new level and I would have never believed it. A hog is really hard to kill and many of the people that hunt them say you can not kill one with a shotgun. I no longer like to argue with people that are experts, but there are five hogs down here that would be happy to testify how these shells worked this year. The last hog and the real reason for the review weighted 250 pounds and I paced off 72 big steps. He never took a step. If you are a hunter, you know this sounds like a fish tale...

This buckshot has the tightest pattern of any 00buck I have ever shot. From a measured 30 yards it clustered 8 pellets in a 6 inch circle with the other 4 pellets clustering up higher and to the left. I tested this round with a Rem. 870 Supermag with a mod. choke. Takes the work out of patterning your gun with different chokes and brands of buckshot to see what performs best. When testing this round the flitecontrol wad travels about 28yards to the target -superb hunting round if your going to use buckshot...
