I have this exact gun vault, and it works perfectly as a secure safe to stash under my seat in my car (I wrap one end of the wire through the locking mechanism inside the safe, then intertwine the two ends and loop around the steel frame of my seat that bolts down to the frame of the car). This makes for an accessible, camoflauged (black interior), and safe way to store my pistol, particularly when I must stash it in the car due to "no firearms" places--despite having CCH permit.
I use this to secure my Taurus 738 TCP .380, as well as an extra full 6 round magazine. This leaves more room for another mag plus papers if I wanted to add those items. I will buy another in the next few weeks to store a full-length 32 oz 1911 .45. I want 2 of these so that I can have 1 in the house to store the gun left home, and 1 in the car to secure my concealed carry firearm, should I need to leave it in the car. I don't trust glove boxes and trunks! Great value for the money...
