I just purchased the 'Dark Earth' edition of the FN Five-seveN and I could not be happier. I have heard so many stories about plastic toys the high cost of ammunition etc. First, the weapon is used by various military and police organizations around the world; I hardly think that they prefer to carry a "plastic toy." Secondly the ammunition is currently running around $20.00 for a box of 50. The FN Five-seveN is limited to the type of ammunition; because of the high velocity the SS190 can penetrate bullet resistant body ware. Notice I didn't say bullet proof, nothing is bullet proof any longer. Most any weapon with the proper ammunition can penatrate body armor and this little beauty is no different. Would I purchase this weapon again, hell yea I would. I have yet to hit the range with mine; however, I have had the honor of shooting several before deciding on this purchase. I just ordered 600 rounds of ammo, but I am undecided if I want to shoot this little baby at all. I have heard so many rumors about banning them that I just might put her back in the box and sell her later, when the prices go up. This is an excellent handling and shooting weapon. I also own a S&W M&P 9c, the S&W M&P .45c, a Beretta PX4 Storm, a Beretta .32 Tomcat and a 9mm Kel-Tec Sub 2000. The FN is by far my favorite at present…Well worth the money in my humble opinion. As far as ballistics you have to Google that for yourself, simply because when I tell you that the FN puts a hole 5” into oak and my .45 is only 2.5 “ deep you’re not going to believe it, so check it out for yourself. I would definitely recommend this weapon to my friends for any use. Although it is a little large for CCW, I do carry this concealed with a Fobus Roto Paddle Holster. Did I say I love it? I give her a solid 10+ for handling, grip, comfort, convenience of the 20 round mag, ease of loading the mag’s and ease of changing mag’s.
