I have a Winchester model 64 made in 1941. Usually the ONLY ammo I can find for it is 170 grain Remington or sometimes handloads at a gun show. With the Remington ammo the rifle groups about 2" at 50 yards and 4"-5" at 100 yards. (open sites)
With the Hornady Lever Evolution ammo the rifle groups 3" or less at 100 yards and under and inch (one ragged hole) at 50 yards. It would probably shoot better if I wasn't using iron sites at the 100 yard mark.
The terminal ballistics will be better at almost any range due to the lower bc and higher muzzle velocity but that's academic. The proof is when you take the rifle into the field and shoot something. Prey doesn't get very far if it goes anywhere at all. Breathes new life into an old gun that has been in the family for 3 generations.
I highly recommend this ammo.
