I'm just an old-timer who enjoys shooting targets, mostly with hand guns but also a couple of rifles. Earlier this year I bought a new Marlin 336C, .35 caliber without a scope, and I wanted to see how the Hornady compared to Remington Core-Lokt. At 50 yds virtually no difference, I put all shots in the black of a 4" bullseye. But, at 100 yds..I was really impressed with the Hornady. My Core-Lokt shots dropped somewhat and I had to adjust higher. But the Hornady shots were spot-on. Very little drop off and all shots placed in the 4" bulleye (although I changed to orange at that distance). I switch guns around with my in-laws at the range, they agreed totally with my opinion of the Hornady. I'd used 150-170 grain ammo before, seemed I did feel the Hornady recoil more, maybe I'm just a wuss now and I need a pad! But, as for accuracy with a lever action at 100 yds, eyeballs only...excellent ammo.
