I carry this gun in a holster on my hip so I can walk through dark timber to hunt elk. Have killed three elk with this gun. If I had to describe this gun in one word it would be AWESOME!!!..

I purchased a BFR 45/70 10". I also purchased the bandalier holster and Hogue grips. I could not be happier with all of it. Recoil is extremely manageable for all that have fired it. eight friends have fired it and there is a little bit of letdown in their faces after they take a shot. The expected experience is much more exciting than reality. The BFR is very accurate and comfortable for me. The factory grips were not comfortable for me but I have big hands. While a novelty to look at, it is not a novelty to me as I enjoy shooting and carrying it. Love mine, do not be afraid of the recoil it is tame compared to expectation...
