Very nice! Light quick action on the lever, pretty gun!
Be careful when buying ammo, the 308 Winchester caliber WILL NOT WORK!
YOU HAVE TO USE THE "MARLIN 308MX EXPRESS" LOAD!
However with the correct ammunition it has a powerful punch down range (highest velocity of any lever action rifle on the market). One thing I have noticed about using the Marlin 308mx express load, maybe engineered to perfect is that it moves sooooo fast that when the round comes in contact with big game it goes in small and comes out small (almost to clean) which enables the target to run a long distant with a clean hole all the way through it's body. Hence quite a distance before it bleeds out.
On the plus side: Super accurate! 100, 200 yards sight your target and that is where the round goes...
Increase your range and decrease the camouflage that you have to wear (sight and smell) and sound.
Five rounds under and one in the chamber is plenty for long hunts and no reloading.
Quick lever action... (needed for the second round on target after the first goes clean through).
After the initial shock of buying the wrong ammo (308 Winchester) this rifle with proper ammunition is my first choice for "The Hunt".
