I give this Shotgun 4.5 star it's a great gun that has never failed me or missed it's target however the finish will rust if not kept cleaned properly but other wise a great gun for the price and a great starter gun for kids.(got this gun when i was 11 still have and am now 20)...

It's very good for the price - about what I expected from Mossberg. Pump action isn't as smooth as I would have liked, but it does the job. It also holds up fairly well over time. The only problem is the firing mechanism. A safety device allows the hammer to fall only halfway if you don't pull the trigger hard enough. It's designed as a safety device so that it won't fire if dropped, but is kind of a pain. However apparently you can buy the newer trigger groups which have that problem fixed. They may come standard with the new Mavericks - I'm not sure.
Overall a good shotgun for a low price. Unless you're shooting in competitions or are really picky about quality...it should do fine...
