Even today, it remains the choice of many discerning wingshooters for its lightning-fast handling qualities and superior “feel.” The Franchi® 48 AL is the ultimate refinement of the breed, with a featherweight but durable aluminum receiver. When you choose the 28-gauge version, you get six fast shots from a gun that weighs just 5.4 pounds! The 20-gauge version adds only a couple of ounces. Nothing else compares to these trim smallbores for easy carrying on the longest day afield. The Field grade has a satin-finished walnut stock and matte metal surfaces to reduce game-spooking reflections. The Deluxe grade has figured select walnut, polished metal surfaces and a gold trigger (gold trigger available on English stock versions only). The true purist can specify a straight-gripped English stock in select walnut, a combination that will meet the most exacting requirements. All 48 AL models have chrome-lined barrels proofed for steel shot, fitted with screw-in choke tubes in improved cylinder, modified and full chokes. Cylinder and improved modified tubes are available options.
