I read the previous review with interest. Although I am not all that experienced with magnum rounds, I found it to be quite comfortable in my Ruger GP-100 3" (Chrono'ed at 1400fps in the shorter barrel).
Of course it was strong compared to a 38, but compared to a typical factory load in a 40 S&W Glock or other fiberglas semi-auto, it was much more controllable and comfortable. It actually more like a 45 ACP--more of a gentle push than a painful snap. I haven't fired this load in any of my K or L frames, but I'll give it a try in my 581. I won't even try it in a J frame, though. I value the nerves in my hand too much!
Summary: I am an avid handloader, but I really like this round and keep my Rugers loaded with them. If I were looking for something for a lightweight 357/38+p J-frame or similar, I would probably stick with a hot 38+p from Double Tap or similar.
