I have shot 7.5 dove loads shooting clay pigeons. I had no problems with non-firing or ejection problems. It doesnt have much kick but it is so light it can make a bit of a sore shoulder...

Wanted a tough reliable shotgun that I could use anytime, anywhere....Unfortunately I ended up buying the 887 Remington Nitro. I guess it just comes down to not doing my homework!! I was warned about Remington by a friend and I hate the fact that he was right. Right from the get go, the very first shot, the shell didn't eject all the way out and I had to manually clear. I just thought It's been awhile since I shot a shotgun......nope. I've only put about 20 rounds through so far and I can't tell you how many I, and other people have had to clear manually. I'm very disapointed because I opted to save a couple of bills and didn't buy the shotgun I said I was going to buy, the Benelli Supernova. Don't make the same mistake as I did!!!!! This is brand new so we will see if things get better or worse, I will give another review after I attempt to build confidence with this gun. Pros: Looks tough Recoil is minimal Price Cons: shells don't like to eject misfire (one out of 20 so far) A gun that you will have no confidence in!!..

I bought the gun in hopes that it would out do the 870. The first time I used the gun in the blind I had a flock of mallards light in the decoys and all I had was a click no boom. I shoot Black Cloud and they dont miss fire EVER. All the cap had was a small ping on it. After that the gun started shooting just fine but then it was not wanting to eject any spent shells and when it did it ejected them from the mag. I brought the gun back hunting the next day and the plunger in the magazine hung up and I was unable to place any shells in the mag. I cleaned the gun after the first hunt and the second hunt also. My cleaning had a different twist the second time i cleaned it because the firing pin shot out and landed on the floor. I called Remington and told them what had happened with my gun and they said I wasn\'t the first to have it happen. I sent it back to them and they called and told me that they would have to replace the gun. I told them do not send me another 887 I want an 870 super mag. to replace it. I own a 870 super mag now. I would not own another 887 even if it was given to me I think they are \"JUNK\"...

Awesome gun! Glad they are finally getting stock in the local gun shops. I got mine for $375 locally in Northern California. Took it to our clay pits and am not sure if it's just because it is a new shotgun, but in the first day I had three no-fires. I had fully racked a shell, pulled the trigger, and click... no bang. Ejected the round and saw that the primer had been struck, but had barely been hit. Also had several times when the fore end would NOT rack back to eject the shell. i had to use my car antenna to push the shell back down. All in all this seems to be a great shotgun, it's a Remington and a hopped up 870, it should last the test of time. We'll have to wait and see...
