Kahr CW45 Semi-Auto Pistol CW4543, 45 ACP, 3.62", Black Polymer Grip, Black Polymer/Stainless Steel Finish, 6 Rd by mike Date Added: Tuesday 15 May, 2012
10 I bought this not too long ago for a concealed carry gun. I was really excited about it being that it is so slim and light for a 45 auto. Kahr manuals state that you should put 200 rounds through it for break-in. After 150 rounds of nothing but failures to feed I am VERY disappointed. From the first magazine to the last, the gun will not operate through a full 6 round mag. After about 100 rounds the take down pin/slide realease started popping out after every shot. When I was at about 50 rounds the slide was not shutting all the way after a shot and the slide would then be stuck and you couldn't open it. I would have to hit the back of the slide pretty hard with my open palm to get it shut. I don't get it with this gun, I thought Kahr was a reputable company for handguns. I'm going to go out and shoot it again when I get more 45 auto rounds and hopefully have better results. I really hope this thing starts working but I kinda doubt it with what it has shown me so far. I know the CW line of Kahr is the 'cheaper' version but the gun should still operate and shoot...

Versa Pod 150807 M14/M1A Rail Adapter by John Date Added: Wednesday 09 May, 2012
10 Able is a good company but the people at versa pod who make this mount are not. The customer service is terrible to say the least. My rail was not machined correctly and the hardware was wrong. They refused to take it back or help me. The girl sent me new screws that were totally wrong after waiting a week to hear from them. Its an expensive mismade piece of junk. Do not waste you time or money with their company...

Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics Pistol Ammunition 45A, 45 ACP, Full Metal Jacket (FMJ), 230 GR, 875 fps, 50 Rd/bx by Robert Date Added: Monday 07 May, 2012
10 My Glock 30 does NOT like this ammo, great price and fast to ship, Able is my ammo place. But I will not use this in the Glock. That being said, I have not tried it in the 1911, could be the Glock needs more break in time for Fiocchi ammo, will report back on the 1911 results. Like another reviewer, I noticed a small mid case, (how do I put this), non-rounded/non-smooth area, on the casing. Is this the issue, I do not know. I told the range about the issue and they gave me a handful of RWS ammo, no problems, it kicked harder than the Fiocchi so perhaps they are just a tad under powered for the Glock. Every other mag loaded with this jammed once, and I did have a firm grip on the pistol. Not terrible ammo and if I don"t have any issues with the 1911, I would buy again just for it. We will see...

Taurus 445 Pistol 2445029UL, 44 Special, 2 in, Rubber Grip, Stainless Finish, 5 Rd by Charles Date Added: Monday 07 May, 2012
10 Finish is not stainless! Rather it is an ugly gray matte, except for trigger, hammer, and cylinder release button which have a stainless finish. Even the Taurus 2012 catalog is not an accurate depiction. If you like "chopped-out" bikes, you'll like this. Stamped lettering contains a white oxide. Needs a good sandblasting. Upon dry firing, trigger pull is smooth, heavier than a Ruger LCR, but much less than most Smith's I have handled. Bought this for east of the Mississippi backpacking, because .44mag too heavy in the kit and 9mm Glock seems anemic. If a black bear needs discouragement, who cares about aesthetics, might even come to like this homely model. A date at the range may reveal an inner beauty. We'll see...

Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics Pistol Ammunition 45A, 45 ACP, Full Metal Jacket (FMJ), 230 GR, 875 fps, 50 Rd/bx by mARK Date Added: Saturday 05 May, 2012
10 I purchased 500 rds for my Beretta PX Storm 45 ACP and got a great price. However, I did not get good performance from this ammo. I amd 350 rds into this, and have at least 1 and even 2 or more per clip fail to chamber correctly. When I received the ammo, I opened and noticed that the rds had a more pronounced ridge mid-cartridge. I did not think much of at the time, but it sure makes sense now. Able is a great online company and I will buy from them again. They are fast shippers and nice folks to work with. I will never buy this ammo again. Cheap is not always the best plinkers.....

10 Tested a box of this and was very pleasantly surprised at the performance. Remington 700 SPS Varmint with 26" barrel from a rest at 100 yards put 5 shots into just over half an inch. They chronographed at 3387 fps which is very fast for 50 gr bullet weight in factory ammo. This is very nice ammo, and I intend to buy some more and see if that performance can be duplicated...

Sig 1911 Ultra Compact Pistol 1911U45BSS, 45 ACP, 3.3 in, Rosewood Grip, Black Finish, Night Sights, 8 Rd by terry Date Added: Monday 23 April, 2012
10 I just got back from the range after firing my new Sig 1911 Ultra Compact, Two Tone with Nirtron sights. It shot flawlessly. I also fired my my Colt series 80 light weight 1911 in order to compare the results. Even though the Sig only has a 3.3 inch barrel, the groupings were almost as tight as the Colt with its five inch barrel. The muzzle flip wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I will most likely replace my Kahr CW 40 with the Sig as my concealed carry weapon. I fired 100 rounds from this firearm today and plan to take it to the range a few more times before I will be completely committed; however, I was impressed with the Sig's performance...

10 Purchased this handgun about 2 months ago. Oh so sweet, the stippling on the grip is like no other(except other sigs). I read one review where a certain person could not run white box winchester thru his firearm. Well you know that would make me want to try it. Looked around and low and behold 300 rounds. Took it to the range the next day with only the white boxes. Did not have one single FTF, FTF,FTE. For this one I rate it 5 stars. The grip, stippling, light 10.4lb pull in da 4lb in sa...

American Tactical 522 22 LR Pistol 522PKB10, 22 Long Rifle, 4.5 in, Black Synthetic Grip, Black Finish, Contrast Sights, 22 Rd by Johnny Date Added: Wednesday 21 March, 2012
10 Purchased a GSG 522PK from American Tactical and had great difficulty with the shells cycling. I have tried various brands of ammunition without any improvement. Sent Firearm back to company for search and answers to the cycling issue. Company stated there were burrs on the barrel. Smith addressed that issue and stated two clips were fired thru the weapon with no problems. Upon return I checked for any improvement....No Such Luck. After a few rounds the cycling issue was still present. If I could get my money back I would. As of now I have a single shot pistol that jams every other or every third shot. A very expensive paper weight if you ask me. Would not purchase this weapon again, perhaps any other weapon from American Tactile. If GSG, German Sports Gun, distributed by Americana Tactile, has a quality control issue they are making it hard to have faith in the distributor or the manufacturer...

10 This is my first handgun. I was torn between this and a Glock 19. Can't say anything about how it compairs but this is a FANTASTIC gun. I've put 1000+ rounds through it without a single problem. Great accuracy out of the box. I'm no marksman and I had a 3 inch group at 10 yards. At 50 yards I was consistently hitting a typical sized coffee can (8 out of 17 rounds). I only gave it 4/5 because the holster and the mag holster are cheesey. If you bend over your dumping your gun and both mags. I picked up a Blackhawk holster with a snap for $12 at walmart that works great. I also got a taclight from NcStar that fits great!..

10 I bought some of this for my son's new Ruger Hawkeye All Weather and was very pleased with it's accuracy and consistency. Shot just over an inch groups at 100 yards off the bench. Chronographed an honest 2636 fps from the 22" barrel Ruger at 55 degrees temperature. I am sure it would work great on deer or black bear, probably even elk within 300 yards. 10 Picked up a couple of boxes of Federal American Eagle .338 Federal ammo to try in my son's new Ruger Hawkeye all weather. Didn't have the tripod for the chronograph, but the recoil told us that the 2750 fps velocity is probably pretty close. It didn't shoot quite as well as the Federal Fusion 200 gr loads, but it was decently accurate with 3 shot groups at 100 yards measuring around an inch and a quarter from the bench. Good quality affordable ammo. We will probably stick with the Fusions for hunting, although I am quite confident these 185 gr American Eagle soft points would also get the job done...

10 So I bought this ammo for my S&W 686+ to shoot at an indoor range a few miles from my house. The first time I shot it my gun jammed after about 35 rounds. I checked and there was metal buildup around the firing pin, in the barrel, and on the magazine star (which rotates the cylinder). I thought it could have been a bad box and tried a new batch another day. 7 shots fired and there was metal in the same spots. Supposedly it's due to the fact that it's 38+P but I don't think any ammo (especially "training" ammo) should leave this buildup and lock your gun up...

10 Bought it for my Hi-Point 995. Liked the mount for co-witness on the iron sights. The mount is the reason I gave two stars. The sight itself has quite a bit of flare causing it to display a "star" pattern. I returned the first one I received thinking I just got a bad one. Matt Parks of NC Star claimed that they have had no problems with this unit. When I received the replacement it was worse than the original. Quite a bit of flare also visable on perimeter. Sent an E-mail to NC Star about it and Matt replied. He stated that he saw nothing wrong with my original scope and didn't know what else he could do for me. And would not reply to any future e-mails. I dealt with NC Star in good faith. I didn't get the same in return. I have purchased BSA and Tru-Glo red dots in the same price point without a problem. 10 Took part in a ballistic demo today using genuine auto glass tilted to a 45 degre angle with a 17 degree offset. Eighteen inches away was a 40 pound block of ballistic gelatin. This round was fired out of a 2" S&W model 642. The penetration and bullet weight retention and deformation of the projectile was very impressive. I will be ordering some for personal protection in my S&W 442 and Colt Det Spls...

Sig P290 Semi-Auto Pistol 2909TSSL, 9mm, 2.9 in, Customizable Grip, 2 tone Finish, 6 Rd by greg Date Added: Friday 10 February, 2012
10 I recently purchased this gun from a local dealer. I own a Glock 19 and a Beretta 96 , but wanted a smaller concealable gun. The choices came down to this gun or the .380 Beretta Cheetah. I liked this gun with the laser and extended 8 shot grip, so I bought it. I made a major mistake not dismantling the gun in the store in order to see what quirks were involved in taking it down before I brought it home. Today after two hours on my own, and half an hour with the service rep at Sig, I just gave up dismantling it and reboxed it to take back to the local dealer I bought it from. The issue I have is that on the reverse side of the gun from the photo, there is a small button that sticks out about 1/16 that must be pushed in when the slide stop and the hole in the slide are aligned. This, like all my autos, means you have to hold pressure on the slide spings, in order to get the pin out on the Beretta or the slide to free up on the Glock. No matter how I tried, fingers in the trigger guard, using my thigh, trying to find a place on my workbench, and finally following instructions from the factory rep, I was unable to find enough hands to get the slide stop out. The pin goes in the miniscule amount, your finger hits the frame and the slide wont shake out, fall out when held upside down or even be out far enough to use your teeth to get a grip on the lever. I refuse to have my wife come out and push it out with a pencil while I hold it..especially in a carry gun. I asked the factory rep if this is the standard set up on all Sigarms to dismantle the gun and he told me this one was unique. I will take this gun back to the dealer and if they cannot show me a way to take this gun apart easily, it goes back to them and I will stick with the tried and true Beretta design. I wish I could add information on how this gun shot, but until I can figure out how to clean it, no shells will go through this pistol. My message...........if you intend to buy this gun, try to dismantle it in a store first to see if you can do it on your own. I am 70, 168 pounds and have reasonable hand strength..at least enough to take a Glock and Beretta down, but this gun has me beat!..

Mec Gar Taurus 92/99 9MM 18 Round Anti-Friction Coating Magazine (MGPT9218AFC) by William Date Added: Monday 30 January, 2012
10 I bought this magazine to replace a Taurus factory 17 round mag. for my Taurus PT-917 CS (same lower frame as the PT-92/99 and PT-100/101). The follower in my Taurus mag dislodged which rendered it inoperable. Well if any of you ever had to deal with the Taurus factory while waiting for your lifetime warrenty to be honored, you can understand my need for another source of equipment. This mag is one of the best I ever had in my hand, the quality is wonderful. It makes the Taurus mag look inferior. It installs smoothly and can be loaded fully right from the start. It fits and works perfectly. The antifriction coating allows easy disengagement. Keep in mind this mag is less expensive than the Taurus factory mag. You can't go wrong with this mag. I HIGHLY recommend it...

Federal Premium Top Gun Target Shotshells TGM12375, 12 Gauge, 2-3/4", 1-1/8 oz, 900 fps, #7.5 Lead Shot, 250 Rd/case by Raymond Date Added: Sunday 29 January, 2012
10 This is the load that is designed to be used with the hastings metro extension. This load works great with the metro barrel, patterns well, and it quiets a 12 gauge shotgun down to around the boom of a .22 magnum. Very quiet comapared to a regular 12 gauge load...

Fiocchi Hunting Heavy Steel Load 1235SHBB, 12 Gauge, 3-1/2", 1-9/16 oz, 1470 fps, #BB Steel Shot, 25 Rd/bx by Stephen Date Added: Sunday 29 January, 2012
10 Wow!!! I patterned this load in my Beretta Xtrema2 with kick-off(recoil elliminator) at 30 yards using the improved cylinder choke tube. (I also am now using the Burris Speed Bead optical site.) The pattern board was 3' by 3' and the painted bull was set at my eye level. The book says that there are 112 BB pellets in 1 9/16 oz. I counted (marking each hole with a marking pen) 103 strikes in an area 28" tall by 30" wide centered on the 5"-6" spray-painted bull. I've since killed a lot of ducks and geese most often stoned-dead. I've found that the lead at forty yards is on the beak of a typically passing shot and body-centered on birds cupped over the deks. Even in a strong north wind this past weekend you still hold pretty much on the bird. Forty yards is my limit for long shots and this gun/choke/sight/shotshell combo just doesn't cause cripples at that distance; one shot one dead bird. I use the same load with #1's on days when the birds come right in to the deks with the same deadly results. By the way, with the Xtrema there is NO felt crack of recoil, just a push!!!!! I never have any soreness in my arthritic shoulders!!!!! At least Italy can get guns and ammo right!!!!!..
