The 5-shot with a two inch inch barrel makes it a favorite for concealed carry and home defense. All Rossi revolvers feature the unique Taurus Security System and are covered by their Lifetime Repair Policy. The R35202 is approved on the roster of handguns certified for sale in California. For service and duty use, Rossi offers the Model R851 in .38 Special. The 4-inch barrel revolver carries 6 rounds of this popular caliber in an easy to handle frame with a vent rib barrel that can handle the more powerful +P rounds. I bought the Rossi R-85104 on May 30th, 2012. I have had no problems with the gun at all except for one. The Orange colored front sight has come off. I contacted Rossi about it, and they said "I had to return the revolver for correction." I painted the front sight with orange finger nail polish, and the sight works o.k. for the job I did. I shoot the gun about 2 or 3 a week, and I have no problems with the gun... |

Recently purcahsed a Rossi 851. I bought it so I could do more range sessions without putting more wear on my standard duty weapon. The Rossi is a solid firearm that does exactly what it is supposed to do. Of course you can buy a revolver with more fit & finish built in (I own several), but the price for a Colt, S&W or Ruger is much higher.
It has excellent sights and is very accurate. It is reliable and durable and there is no reason this could not be a duty weapon if .38sp is enough for your needs.
Essentially, it is a very strong value for a no-nonse .38sp you can count on... |
