I've had my P345 going on 2 years and have fired thousands of rounds through it. It's a very well made reliable firearm. I've never had any problems with mine. I did notice it doesn't seem to like Winchester T-Series, 230 grn. +P ammo but it feeds fine with Black Hills, 185 grain +P loaded with the Barnes TAC-XP. It does fine with all hard ball ammo. It's just a good all around pistol and USA made. One improvement Ruger could make: the trigger pull is rather long...

Update on this pistol. After cleaning I could not insert a magazine. A pin on the right of the frame had come loose, it took a LOT of pressure to get the pin back into the frame.
Not a good feature after regular cleaning, had I known before I would have passed on this gun...

So far well over 1000 (probably closer to 2500) rounds with no problems, malfunctions, failure to feed, failure to fire, etc. Seems to shoot a little (1-2\") high at 15 yards w/230 grain Federal FMJ, otherwise dead on. Accuracy is very good to excellent. Very easy to shoot the center out of a target at nearly any reasonable range. Outstanding for day to day carry, fishing, hiking, etc. Very durable finish. sweat, dirt, and rain do not seem to have any effect on it at all. Recoil is very mild for a .45, more like a 9mm. Pretty easy to shoot quickly and stay on target. Holsters are tough to find-most holsters that fit S&W 457 will fit the 345. I like the magazine disconnect safety (yes it is a safety) -I have kids, it is a very good safety feature. It is part of the reason I bought the 345. Overall at least as good as all the other stuff out there, better than most, and affordable. If you have to carry a .45 day to day this model is really worth a look...

I like this gun. I was reluctant to go with a polymer framed pistol but after putting hundreds of rounds downrange I'm a believer now. It's just 5 or 6 ounces lighter than the P90 but the difference becomes more apparent the longer it's on your hip. I used +P 230 gr JHP rounds for personal protection and Winchester "white box" 230 gr FMJ and JHP for skill maintenance; my KP345 has never jammed. It misfired once when the folks at "Wolf Ammo" forgot to put powder in one of their rounds...the primer went off and pushed the bullet into the barrel; had to knock it out with a copper punch. I don't buy "Wolf" brand anymore. The recoil is that of any 45 cal but is consistant and easily managed. It is well balanced; not at all "top heavy" as might be expected given the steel over polymer construction. It is a double action/single action which means it can be carried with the hammer at rest; I only have to pull, thumb the safety and squeeze. If it was single action only I'd have to either 1) rack the slide to chamber a round and cock the hammer OR 2) carry the pistol "hot" with the hammer cocked and a round in the chamber. It is very easy to strip and clean so it it more likely to be stripped and cleaned. This gun is a good value...lots of bang for the buck...
