I've had really good luck with this pistol, not that I ever heard that Ruger was bad. I've had it now for just over 2 years and it has been fantastic. Very slim and sleek for a full size double stack handgun. 17 + 1 capacity is great! Has a rubber reversable backing on the grip to make it a tad larger for those who prefer it, I like it with the slimmer grip myself. The gun shoots right where it's aimed for me and anyone else who I've let shoot it. One guy I let shoot it a bunch has bought his own. I think that for the price this is a real value, I feel it is just as good as the M&P line of pistols from S&W. No malfunctions with this gun with FMJ's or HP's, awesome gun...

This is my first hand gun and i absolutely enjoy it. Its slim and easy to handle. Although i did have a couple jams within the first 100 rounds, but i think that was due to me not lubing it properly before firing it for the first time...

I love this pistol. It's slim and compact compared to say a Glock 17. Its a great concealed carry weapon. Easy breakdown, ambidextrous safety lever, mag release and reversible backstrap. So far i have put 2000+ rounds through mine and never jammed once. Would highly recommend this pistol!..

Working on my CCW and have been shooting several brands. Springfeild XD series, Bersa, Beretta, HK, Glock and Ruger. Each caliber from the manufacture's shoots and handles different. As for the 9mm, I liked the Ruger SR9 the best for the 9mm size. With in 5 rounds, I can always put all 17 rounds within 2.25". I shoot the bullseye out at 15-20 yrds 90% of the time. I don't like the sights when shooting in low light, a little tough on these old eyes. The SR9 I have has the NEW TRIGGER from the factory, the 331 serial #. My friend has the Springfeild XD, and I found the trigger much stiffer to squeeze off the rounds. Both guns have about 600 rounds thru them. I was about 2.5" at the same distance. Either way the bad guy is going to have a bad day. I have a IWB leather holster that hides the SR9 great. I'm not a large guy, so the reversable back strap grip is GREAT!!! It took about 15 seconds to change it for my large friends paws. He is wishing that he hadn't spent the extra $225.oo on his Springfield (All metal). I'll be looking for new sights, not much out there now, but maybe later. My training is from the military, and a local SWAT officer that taught my CCW class. Even he was impressed with the SR9 and he shoots a $4200.oo compititiion pistol, and he is darn good. Oh, I was able to hit a 10" metal target at 110 yds, twice with 5 shots and a spotter, and sand bags. 1st 3 were bringing it in. Not too bad!! GREAT FIREARM. I do want better sights though...

I have had mine for 6 months with no problems. After just a couple hundred rounds everything loosened up . I don't have a gritty trigger on mine like other wrote and the mag release works perfectly as well. The high point for me is the feel off this gun and it's fairly acurate enough...
