SAVAGE ARMS Model 93R17F Rifles Savage 5 + 1 17HMR w/AccuTrigger/Heavy Stainless Barrel/Brown Laminated Sto The R17F rifles has the AccuTrigger, a revolutionary design that will forever change the way shooters expect triggers to function. The AccuTrigger gives the shooter the flexibility to set the trigger pull to individual preference without have to pay a gunsmith to adjust it. Also, even when adjusted to its lowest setting, the AccuTrigger is completely safe and cannot accidentally discharge during normal use from being jarred or dropped when maintained and adjusted as intended. A newly designed teardrop safety is an additional feature on rifles with the AccuTrigger. It provides for better acquisition of the safety button and operates smoother and quieter. The most awsome rifle I have ever owned. The heavy barrel and bolt action are of superior quality for such a small caliber gun.
I'm not a hunter any longer but may take a shot now and then with my new toy. If you're looking for a fun rifle to shoot at almost any thing this is the gun of choice... |

This gun is awesome! All the fun and almost as cheap as a .22, but with high-power rifle accuracy and satisfying report.
I've owned guns most my life and currently have 11 rifles and shotguns. But this is true love. When I want to have fun, target shoot, varmint hunt, or just impress my friends with accuracy, this is the gun.
I can shoot up to 82 yards in the family meadow, and once sighted in, neither I nor my brother-in-law, nor my 9 year old son have missed a shot; literally.
I mounted up a Bushnell Trophy 3x9x40 (worth the extra $ over the Banner; I've got both; shop opticsplanet.com) and can shoot quarter-sized sandstone chunks all day long; no exaggeration.
And the power! Birds and squirrels just plain explode (head shots only if you want anything left to eat). I've shot two coyote from about 40 yards (heart shots). I am determined to take a deer with it as well just to prove it can be done (short range, eye shot).
Only complaint is the magazine latch. Works just fine but is just a chintzy design. On such a cool rifle, it should be a push button release. Totally worth spending for the stainless steel and thumbhole stock... |
