You can't go wrong with this rifle or Able ammo. They didn't have the gun in stock but it only took 2 days to get it in, great customer service. The rifle itself is a nice color with a heavy barrel on it. I've shot around 100 rounds through mine so far with no failure to feeds. The bolt is very smooth after you work it in a bit. Make sure you buy a couple more 5 round mags so you don't have to keep reloading it. This rifle also shoots very well. I was shooting baby peaches about the size of a golf ball easily at 70 yards. Once you start shooting this thing you won't want to shoot anything else. I would highly recommend it to anyone. - GARRETT
This is an awesome rifle. The trigger is smooth and crisp and adjustable (I have mine set at 2lbs 10 oz.). Muzzle break works good and makes a discernible difference. It does not have a fluted narrel as claimed in the specs, at least not in 7 mm Rem. Mag.
I had a Weatherby in 7 mag before and although it was a nice looking and accurate rifle the Savage 111 LRH will probably shoot rings around it. Besides the 111 looks WICKED! - ROBERT
I bought this rifle and scope combo at Able's Ammo a while back. At 100 yds it will shoot a tight group on a sand bagged bench. No kick. Feels great, solid but not heavy. Has the heavy stainless barrel. This is one accurate varmit shooting rifle. Coyotes for sure. It will drop a 300 lb hog with a well placed shot. I really like this rifle. Wish it had a larger magazine. If you want a good working rifle or just a fun plinking gun, this is the one. - CHARLES
just purchased this rifle went to range 1st shot perfect elevation 8in to the left adjusted the scope clover leaf next 4 shots on center incredible accuracy out of box will not purchase anything but a savage from this point foward - JAMES
As an avid shooter in my late 60\'s, I have owned this gun for a little over a year & target/plink often at my lease. Have probably shot 600 - 700 rds. using 7 different brands of ammo in 17 gr. Two were Hollow Points. The gun is very accurate & impressive, the trigger (set light) is very smooth. The barrel (while warm) shows no real heat problem after running 5 quick shots thru it. I have never had a problem with it. I come from a lot of experience shooting & hand loading 22-250\'s. To me this is just a smaller version and is an excellent shooter in the 100 to 150 yd. range. For a decent shooter, Coyotes will not be a problem. I outfitted it with a Weaver 3X10 Grand Slam. This gun/scope combo is light & easy to carry afield. For around $600. & the cheaper cost of .17 ammo you will have a lot of shooting fun. As to the brand of ammo that shoots best for me...it\'s the Hornady .17 gr. V-MAX.
