I used to do a lot of reloading and my bullet of choice was the SIERRA 220 gr semi wad cutter full metal jacket which is now classified as the super target. I reloaded this slug with HERCO 2400 powder but now all I can find locally is ALLIANCE 2400 which is pretty much the same. This slug is awesome when used in conjunction with a 8" barrel and shoots very flat. I used to shoot silhouette, but found that bowling pins are wonderful targets, but don"t last long using full house loads. Its been 30 years and I finally got back into the Handgun mode again. However finding ammunition in 44cal is getting tough, as you all are probably finding out. Even reloading supplies are in short supplies. Today 04/25/09 I went to SPORTSMAN'S WAREHOUSE in S.L.C. UT and found ZERO 44MAG, 44SPEC, 44MAG RELOADING AMMO, BRASS, AND ZERO LARGE CALIBER HANDGUN PRIMERS. Talk about disappointing!!! JOHNNYMAC..
