I purchased this pistol about a year ago for personal defense and for my work as a Deputy. The Sheriff has since made us all convert to Sig\'s, but I still prefer to carry this pistol off-duty and anywhere I go. I have put well over a thousand rounds through it. I put over 500 through it before I even cleaned or oiled it. It only jammed on me once in all those rounds. The price is great for a very reliable weapon.
The trigger pull was a bit of a bother, but a search for how to fix the \"problem\" resulted in the removal of a couple of springs and all was fine after that. I carry this weapon in a holster and I have never had an accidental discharge.
It is very accurate with all brands of ammo. I have never had an issue with any brand. The one jam I had was with the cheapest ammo. Overall I would recommend this pistol to anybody. I have had a lot of compliments on it, even before I removed those springs. I am seriously considering purchasing another one, but in .40 S&W... |

I\'ve always lived with the \"you get what you pay for\" type of attitude. But, there are always exceptions to the rule and the Sigma is a fine example. I\'m a plinker but do carry a concealed weapon too. Never said I was a sharp shooter and have no professional training to bragg about. Certainly no expert as many claim to be either. I do however have a love for handguns and own a fair amount, revolvers and semi-autos.
I kept seeing ads for my local gun dealer advertising the S&W Sigma and the price for a semi-auto 9mm or .40 seemed really cheap. So, I figured it was a cheap gun. But, my curiosity got the better of me and after some quick research I decided it was inexpensive enough to try out even if it was a lemon. Man, best money I ever invested!! I\'m tellin\' ya, what a pistol. I can honestly say that I think this is my new favorite handgun and the price is half the reason. I own several 9mm semi-autos and the Sigma is a standout. The most inexpensive but worth its weight in gold. It holds 17 rounds fully loaded yet is still fairly light. It has no manual safety to fumble around with either. Okay, the bad part, if you consider it a bad thing, the trigger pull is heavy but easy to master. A few shots in the beginning to get a feel for it and it\'s a tack driver.
I currently have about 500 rounds through the Sigam 9mm and did most of that in 2 range sessions. I was trying to get it to fail somehow to prove that \"you get what you pay for\" but it proved me wrong thankfully. I will admit I had one jam and that was with some cheap steel cased ammo that was extremely dirty. It happend after about 100 rounds of the stuff. I cleared it and shot 50 more with no problems. All other ammo shot was brass Winchester, Federal, PMC, and Blazer. The Steel case ammo was Russian made and has given me problems in the past with all handguns. Lots of misfires and jams are expected with the stuff but it\'s so cheap it\'s fantastic for the range.
I\'m sure I\'ll put many more rounds through my Sigma in the future as I do enjoy the gun. We\'ll see how it holds up. As for now, I\'m very, very pleased with it. For a inexpensive semi-auto 9mm it far exceeds what I expected. S&W has made a great bargin product with the Sigma. Now what\'s this new S&W SD9 and SD40 I\'m seeing?? May have to check it out!.. |
