I got this gun a few years ago and I\'ve put at least 1,000 rounds through it without a jam or misfire, even with cheap range ammo. I love it and would recommend it to anyone.
*In response to the review about the finish wearing off: mine hasn\'t done that at all and I\'ve never heard of it, so I think it\'s just your gun and don\'t know why they are telling you it\'s normal with all of them...

the gun and carring case was compact and well arranged. I took the gun to a rifle range. The gun was right on! Hit the center of the target almost all shots. Not bad shooting right handed and being a lefty. Its to loud for my wife, she wants something in a 22 and on the same frame. RAC..

awesome gun no problems after 1000 rounds i've had it for 4yrs now never a hang up wih this gun. i fired 250rds without cleaning and it syill didnt miss a lick would reconmend to any1 i have the .40 aswell its a nail driver. cant wait to get the .45..

Purchased this pistol on a Friday and went directly to the range to try it out. Field stripped it at the range to lubricate before firing and was surprised that it was already liberally oiled. It was so accurate I looked around to see if perhaps somebody else was shooting at my target. Love the weapon. However by Monday and a couple of hundred rounds of breaking in I saw that the finish was already coming off the barrel at the ejection point from the slide. Took it back to the dealer who told me they all do that and it would soon be completly silver in that area and that it was just normal wear. Bottom line no satisfaction from the dealer. Contacted Springfiled along with a picture that I took dated 4 days after purchase and you could see the finish rubbing off and silver underneath. Two days later I get an answer from them stating that it is normal wear. Maybe it is and maybe it isn't but it just doesn't sit well with me after just a few days and a couple hundred rounds. I do love the way the pistiol fires and fits my hand but this just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. By the way as I was trying to contact Springfiled I had sent an e-mail to the main e-mail address on their web page asking if I could register the warranty on-line or had to send the card in. I sent that e-mail on 3/27/09 and just got an answer on 4/15/09 telling me that no I could not. I am afraid I see a pattern developing already and hope I do not need anything more from Springfield. I would love to give the gun high marks and I do other than the finish and customer service...
