I bought this pistol several years ago at Able's Ammo. Sometimes I make smart decisions. This is one of them. Excellent handgun. Easy to shoot well. Excellent feel for my hand, I wear a size XL glove. My wife shot this pistol and now I have her old one. Funny how that works. Great all in one pistol. I highly recommend this pistol even though I don't get to shoot it much anymore...

I own a 9mm px4 Beretta and the Stoeger Cougar 9mm, and am far from being any kind of expert on handguns. The salesman showed me the Stoeger Cougar. I have big hands and it fit me like a glove. To cut to the chase, if you are looking for a handgun, no matter what pricerange you are in, in my opinion the Cougar is an awesome choice !..

I bought this for my wife (5ft 2 in) and she had never fired a gun in her life. So I took her to a gun range that had a lady instructor (ex-police). She said that this was the best I could get for her using it the first time. With the recoil being dampened by the barrel rotation. My wife was able to get a six to eigth inch group at 15 yds her first time out. Good enough for home defense and practice to come. I am also glad the instructor was a lady as I would not have known some of the thing that she was able to teach her and I took for granted. I would recommend this to my friends..

Sweet handling, very little recoil. The pistol is very accurate, at 50 yards I can place shots within a 6" target. I have both the 9mm and 40 cal Cougar models, the most accurate of the two is the 9mm, it has much less recoil. At 75 yards I can place the 9mm into about a 12" target, and I am only an average shooter. Easy take down for cleaning...

Got it a couple of years ago. Still like it a lot. Seems compact and handy. Took me longer to become consistent with accuracy. I like the simplicity. It field strips well. It has a good feel to it. Gobbles all I fed it. Never a fail to fire. Consistent point of impact. Large hands MAY not prefer the grip. I like 'em a lot. My mitts are a lot smaller than my kids' hands. I shoot the gun way better than he. I ordered a metal recoil spring guide from Beretta in Virginia for about $6 to replace the mickey mouse plastic one that easily bent and causes friction and wear on the recoil spring. It is the same as the spring and guide for the Beretta 8000. Finish is about what you would expect from Turkey, inconsistent and unlike the Beretta finish on their Italian guns. That does not mean Cavemen are working the line in Turkey, it just means Beretta/Stoeger are cutting some corners to get this thing out for under $400. Indeed. I like it, but think others are a better option. I like the Storm a lot. Various Glocks and Springfield XDs are my choices. But this is very adequate considering the price. Keep 'em in the ten ring...
