TAURUS INTERNATIONAL Model PT-111 Millenium Pro Pistols Taurus 12 + 1 Round 9MM Millenium Pro w/3.25" Barrel/Titanium Finish The Millennium Pro compact polymer frame pistol is the 3rd generation of the Taurus series. Design features include enhanced finger indexing memory pads, posi traction slide serrations, integral magazine base extension and recessed magazine release. Wanted an inexpensive auto for EDC with at least the punch of a 9mm. Out of the box, the sights are some of the worst I have ever seen; inaccurate, hard to see and line-up. Changed to some Williams Firesights with RED/GREEN fiber optics and this thing is very reasonable between 5-15 yards. Set for 7-10 yrds, this is a great value in a polymer 9mm auto, just be sure to change the sights! No FTF/FTE/FTF at all, but I have heard of light-strikes; I re-worked the firing pin and spring when I first got it, and no failures in over 750 rnds... |

I purchased a PT-111 Millenium Pro about 6 months ago. I fired the pistol on the range, and was absolutely amazed at the lack of accuracy that was provided by the "straight eight" sight on the pistol. I put about 1,000 rounds through the gun, and could not improve my accuracy. Then I replaced the rear sight with an adjustable one, and my accuracy improved markedly. This pistol was supoosed to be my primary "carry weapon", but I soon replaced it with a Springfield .45. I have since shot about another 500 rounds through the Pt-111, and now can shoot a three inch group at 10 yards. If you are looking for accuracy, look for a weapon with a better sight and a longer barrel. I will say that of all the rounds I have put through this gun, I have not had a misfire or a jam... |
