TAURUS INTERNATIONAL Model PT-145 Millenium Pro Pistols Taurus 10 + 1 Round 45 ACP Millenium Pro w/3.25" Barrel/Blue Finish Constructed with a hammer forged slide and an injection molded polymer frame, Taurus' Millennium Pro PT145 is a pocket size, extremely lightweight double action only autoloader in .45 ACP that weighs a mere 22.6 ounces. It joins Taurus' family of ultra compact personal defense Millennium autoloaders. The Model PT145 features a 10 round magazine capacity for 10+1 firepower, but the most central feature of the gun is its rugged recoil operated action instead of the simple blowback mechanisms found on many other pocket size pistols. Big bullets, high capacity, and small size. What\'s not to like? I have shot it enough to be confident of its reliability with hardball ammunition, and I can hit a 9\" paper plate every time at ten yards. This makes it a good carry gun. Maintenance is easy. Concerns about recoil are unjustified. In spite of the small size and relatively light weight, the pistol handles the .45 cartridge very comfortably... |

-Easy to use (load, unload, sights).
-Fits good in hands.
-Compact enough to be concealed.

Picked this up just the other day on a whim. Mine has an accessory rail on it so it looks a little different from the one pictured above. This is my first .45 acp handgun. I\'ve been wanting a .45 acp for a while. Got to take it out today and I put 50 rounds through and it performed great. I brought 150 rounds but because of the price I stopped at 50 rounds and shot some of my other pistols. The gun is pretty nice for a compact and easy to use. Breaks down and reassembles with no problems. Lots of firepower in a small frame. I used both Winchester (white box) 230 grn FMJ and the same in Federal. Both worked just fine with no malfunctions.
Overall the pistol is great and would probably make a fine CC gun or home defense weapon. I shot it at between 3 and 10 yards and it did well enough. Didn\'t shoot any further and didn\'t see a need to. I had decent groups but I\'m not really all that hung up on making a 2\" group at any distance. Pistols like this are made for close quarter contact and that\'s about it. The DA/SA trigger is very nice and smooth. I also have an older Taurus PT111 (9mm) and it is double action only. The PT145 is a nice change compared to the DAO plus you have 2nd strike capability. Good sights and a good trigger make a huge difference. No real complaints so far but I\'ve only got 50 rounds through it.
If you want a compact with a .45 punch, this is your gun. Like I said, been wanting a .45 and got this on a whim. Kinda wish I had gone with a full size in hindsight. Nothing wrong with this gun but I didn\'t get it for CC, just plinking. A full size is easier to handle but would most likely cost a bit more too. All in all, it\'s a great little gun though!.. |
