Finish is not stainless! Rather it is an ugly gray matte, except for trigger, hammer, and cylinder release button which have a stainless finish. Even the Taurus 2012 catalog is not an accurate depiction. If you like "chopped-out" bikes, you'll like this. Stamped lettering contains a white oxide. Needs a good sandblasting. Upon dry firing, trigger pull is smooth, heavier than a Ruger LCR, but much less than most Smith's I have handled. Bought this for east of the Mississippi backpacking, because .44mag too heavy in the kit and 9mm Glock seems anemic. If a black bear needs discouragement, who cares about aesthetics, might even come to like this homely model. A date at the range may reveal an inner beauty. We'll see...
