Altho the Taurus Tracker 17 hmr seems to be well built, After shooting it (myself and two other shooters) we could only get a 6 to 8 inch patern at 50 yards, We set a target at 40 feet and nothing changed. Had i been the only shooter i may have wondered if it were me or the gun, but with two other experianced shooters and the same 6 to 8 inch group and shooting over 100 shots. i am not impressed with the Taurus Tracker 17 HMR... |

I have had my Tracker for about 4 years. It is very accurate with good range.
This is a fun gun to shoot. It will pop right through a dense 4X4 with ease. The penetration is awesome. Nice, well made. Heavy and solid construction makes
a nice bench gun. Recoil is light.
On the down side.
The chamber tends to get gritty and the casings get hard to get into position. It
is like grit tries to stop the shell from going in. I just squirt some WD-40 in it!!!!
Don't gasp. I even do that to blued automatic pistols in the field. Been doing it
for years. Don't hurt anything I know of.
The Tracker is heavy to take in the field. That is just me. The weight is good on
the bench, but somewhat inconvenient. It is hard to shoot in a standing position
for me. I have to steady it on something.
You can not have it all. this gun rates high, but there is room for improvement.
It has to be more than good for me to give a 5.

Dead on... SWEET firearm. Used a friends to practice with but I will get myself one! No kickback but takes out the target with accuracy! love it!.. |
