Uberti Springfield Trapdoor Rifle U71007, Army 32.5", 45-70, Walnut Stock
Good looking, well made rifle! Metal to wood fits are very good. A few minor parts seem a little lower quality than I would have liked. Shoots absolutely great! Lock is crisp and clean, trigger pull is smooth and easy. A little higher priced than I would have liked, but after shooting it I'm glad I did. - DAVID

Uberti 1873 Special Sporting Rifle Steel U342760, .357 Magnum, 24.25", A Grade Stock
I received the rifle at my dealer on time. All I have to say is WOW. This is my first lever action large bore rifle. The rifle did have two flaws. One was the checkering on the stock. Apparently a square tool ~ 3/8" x 3/8" had pressed into the checkering by the trigger causing it to become depressed and marred. i was able to get it to look better but its not perfect. The second is a design flaw. The top of the trigger blocks the rear sight at the 2 lowest elevation settings. I plan to replace the rear sight with a tang mounted peep sight in front of the trigger. Due to the rifle design a top mounted scope cannot be used as this rifle ejects from the top. The action is super smooth but long and the rifle loads and unloads easily. No question remains if you are in the right position - its all serves as positive feedback. The rifle is equipped with a hidden firing safety. The cocking lever must be pulled flush against the bottom stock to allow the trigger to engage. Additionally there is a lever lock at the bottom of the gun stock. This rifle has the smoothest trigger pull I've ever encountered. Absolutely no excessive force is needed. I kept surprising myself how quickly the trigger would fire. Not a hair trigger but just as smooth. Absolutely no fighting to stay on target when firing. This is my first Uberti. I'm sure there will be others. Highly pleased. - VERNON

Uberti 1873 Special Sporting Short Rifle Steel U342068, .45 Colt, 20", A Grade Stock
I'm going to order this rifle from Able's after shooting the exact same rifle owned by a friend. This gun is amazing. The fit and finish are absolutely flawless. The quality of the case hardening and walnut stock are absolutely fancy grade. With iron sights I can place a five shot group within two inches at 150 feet. This is standing offhand without a rest. With a sandbag rest, it grouped five Fiocchi cowboy loads into a two inch group at 100 yards. The action works like butter and you can cycle it at any angle, even upside down. The Winchester models 1892 and 1894 have stronger actions than the 1873, but they are not as smooth. I wouldn't shoot Buffalo Bore or Double Tap +P ammo in ANY 1873. Stick to standard factory loads....anything that leaves a handgun barrel at less than 1000 fps. I know that Uberti also makes their 1873 in 44 magnum, but I have no idea if it's a different design. It wasn't designed for such pressures. Bottom line, this is a somewhat expensive rifle but is the best of the 45 Colt reproductions. The WInchester 1892 made in Japan is nicely made but it has silly safeties. The Rossi and Cimarron (ARMI) are not bad guns but are not of the same quality. We no longer make an 1873, 1892, or 1894 in this country. You have to buy from Brazil, Italy, or Japan. Such is life. - JOE

Uberti 1860 Henry Rifle Brass U342880, .45 Colt, 24.25", A Grade Stock
I own one of these fine replicas of the old Henry Civil War rifle. I have the 45LC version, and it is an excellent firearm. The flip-up rear sight is dead on with factory loads at the 200 yard increment, as well as at 100 yards with the rear sight in the down position. I have not tried it at longer distances, but I would almost bet that it is good at 300 yards and beyond. I did not have to move the rear sight for windage at all to achieve the 100/200 yd. results. It was that good, right out of the box. I love shooting the rifle and would not give it up, even if the BATF came to confiscate it. As Mr. Heston would say......from my cold, dead hands. If you like history and western style replica firearms, you can't beat Uberti. I have a Uberti 45LC SA pistol as the companion piece to the Henry, and it too is a fine firearm. - J. E.

Uberti 1866 Yellowboy Sporting Rifle Brass U342220, .38 Special, 24.25", A Grade Stock
I found the Uberti 1866 Yellowboy Sporting to be a surprisingly well-finished and attractive reproduction of a classic Winchester lever-gun. In fact, while shopping for a cowboy-style lever-action, I found at my local gun shop a brand new, limited edition, engraved Winchester (still in the box) that looked positively cheap by comparison. The icing on the cake is that the Uberti is also amazingly accurate for an "antique". The action feels as smooth as any new brand-name lever rifle I tried and operates with a satisfying mechanical sound. Not only is it a pleasure to look at, it is also a pleasure to cycle the action and shoot. And. in .38 special, it is relatively inexpensive to shoot. Highly recommended for "casual" target shooting or Cowboy Action Shooting. - M. S.
