I have owned my 12 ga. H&R Ultra Slug for just over a year now. Once I was able to determine which sabot slug it preferred, I realized I was in posession of a real tack driver. I can consistently shoot either a single jagged hole or cloverleaf at 100 yds. At 200 yds, consistent 2.75 to 3.25 inch groupings. Now this is shooting from a sandbagged bench rest but you also need to know that I am no sniper. I have rigged my gun with a 3x9 Nikon Slughunter scope and it seems to be a match made in heaven. The BDC reticule in my scope seems to put the Federal Hydrashock ammo my gun prefers right on the mark at 50, 100, 150, and 200 yds. I ended-up buying 100 rounds of the Federal Hydrashock to make sure I had a ready supply just in case Federal stops making them. Before owning the H&R Ultra Slug, I would have bet than no slug gun could possibly be this accurate. I often wonder how accurate my gun would be in the hands of someone who could really shoot well...

I Purchased one of these 3 years ago ,it is very accurate! I've harvasted whitetail deer at ranges most other shotguns could not. im very pleased with its performance. anyone looking for true rifle like performance from a shotgun should look at one of these h&r shotguns. i use nothing but hornady sst slugs thru it. 100 yard plus shots are not out of the question. would like to replace the stock with there NEW thumb hole version. an outstanding gun for the money....
