This custom-edition tribute to writer and outdoorsman Jack O'Connor features an engraved bighorn sheep on the floorplate and oak tree scroll work on the pistol grip cap, a checkered metal buttplate and Jack O'Connor's signature in Nickel on the trigger guard. The polished, blued-steel receiver is paired with a matching 22 in hammer-forged, free-floating barrel with featherweight contouring capped with a target crown. The stock is made from beautiful, AAA High-Grade French walnut with an ebony forearm tip and a graceful shadowline cheekpiece. Based on O'Connor's personal preferences, this Model 70 features a Pre-64 controlled round feed and controlled ejection for precise chamber placement and more positive extraction. Winchester's Model 70 M.O.A. Trigger System virtually eliminates take up, creep and overtravel, so where you aim is where you shoot. The smooth-engaging three-position safety is convenient to operate with the thumb of the firing hand and easily identifies the safety status of the rifle. This limited-availability, special Shot Show buy also has a Custom owner's manual, brochure and hang tag for display. For storage, this Jack O'Connor Custom Tribute Model 70 includes a voucher, redeemable through the Jack O'Connor Center, for a free custom-embroidered case.
