Worth it's weight in GOLD. I was very concerned about accuracy and take down ability of this round with a 16 inch barrel. What I can tell you is that this ammo is RIDICULOUSLY consistent. I have shot over 150 rounds of this ammunition and my zero has not changed and I have not had ANY "flyer's". At 100 yards I can consistently put 3 rounds in the same hole. at 150 yards I experience about 5-6 inches of drop but the knock down power is still there (its about to split a 4x4 block of oak at 150 yards). At 200 the drop is more significant and in the range of 24-26 inches, however when zero'd at that distance one is able to put as many rounds as they like inside of a 2.5 inch circle. - ADAM
As I have come to expect from Hornady and Bushmaster products quality is excellent.
Bullet speed from my Bushmast (20 inch)were very consistent with low single digit variation in FPS.
My first three shot group at 100 yards all touched in a nice little cloverleaf cluster.
My only concern now is availability of ammo and mor eimportantly what kind of velocity can I achieve with handloads, and the availability of pointed bullets. - T. S.
I'm impressed! This little 16 incher .450 bushmaster is a master after all! I still like my .340 weatherby, but this is so much more fun to shoot. I used Hornady's 250 grain bullets against 5 55 gallon drums at 25 meters awsay and the bullet went through 4 of them! I'd like to see the bullet casing made a little tougher, as the copper on the 250 grainers are skimpy. Otherwise, I'm a happy camper! I recommend this weapon to any bear handler around. - D. H.
