My Dad bought the 150 grain version of this bullet for his Remington 710 and he is getting anywhere from 7/8\" to 1 1/4\" groups at 100yards! He has taken 2 deer with this bullet, a 2 1/2 year old 3 pointer and a 5 1/2 year old 8 pointer. The bullet was recovered from the 3 pointer and it weighed 139 grains after going through the shoulder and the spine! That\'s over 90% weight retention! That deer dropped. But the 8 pointer that he shot managed to run 100 yards somehow, let me tell you the exit hole was over 3 inches across and a perfect double lung shot, I\'d say just an exceptionally tough buck. Anyways this is a great bullet at a great price, would recommend to anyone! - C. R.
I currently use this ammunition with my Marlin XL7 30-06, I am consistently under 1.5" and frequently under .75" at 100 yards. I also find this a very effective round on whitetail deer, as they mushroom very well. - T. K.
This is an excellent round for soft skinned animals (or persons). I had no problem zeroing my rifle with this round. My only 30-06 is a Savage Model 110. This rifle was laser bore sighted and zero'd with Winchester 180 grn rounds, but I had no problem adapting to the Ballistic Silvertip in 150 grain. Just looking at this bullet, I could tell it was going to be fun to shoot and I was right. I'm shooting 1MOA groups consistently at 100 yrds and I'm shooting under 6 inch groups at 700+ yards. I would like to see the price of this ammo drop somewhat. Anything I can do with this round, I can do with any other round as well, but I love the way it performs. I have yet to kill anything with it, but that's subject to change soon. I believe this would be an excellent sniping and/or competition round. In a one shot one kill scenario, I'd turn to this cartridge. Anywhere inside 300 yards, I have noticed very little drop and cross winds do not seem to affect the bullet much. Thanks to Winchester for going above and beyond my expectations again. - K. B.
My Ruger M77 Hawkeye shoots them flawlessly. I have shot about 35 of them 1st getting zeroed, then at game with no problems. The last round I shot was at a gray fox at 180 yds. and it hit perfectly. I have absolutely no complaints. - Q. E.
