I just bought this SR40c last week and WOW! I've owned the full size SR9 for almost 5 years now and have never really given the compacts any notice. Honestly I think these pistols get overlooked. But, I decided I wanted a new carry gun with a stainless slide in 40 S&W and my search came up with this. At first I thought it'd be too big so I went to the gun store to check it out. I was sold in about 30 seconds. The feel of this SR40c is amazing, it has the traditional slim SR grip. It's such a natural pointer too. It's not a tiny gun by any means but still small enough to conceal IWB.
It came with on 9 round shortend mag and one 15 round full size mag. I really wish it had just come with two 9 round mags instead of the big 15 rounder. Not really a concealed carry magazine.
I took it to the range after a quick cleaning and fired about 200 flawless rounds through it. It's not only reliable but very, very accurate. Also, it's a very soft shooting gun for a 40 S&W. I like it a lot! The trigger is awesome too, short, light, and has a clean crisp break.
The SR9 full size I own has been absolutely fantastic and I see this SR40c as being the same. If you need a comfortable CC gun for a reasonable price, check out the Ruger SR series pistols. You'll get a lot of bang for your buck with these. - MIKE
The Glock .40 model 27 is awesome. It comes with two mags. It shoots like a dream. Recoil is far less than I had expected. Make no mistake, this will stop an attacker cold. The trigger pull is very easy, just a gentle squeeze launches a very lethal caliber round. I shot 50 rounds through it with no problems. I am using full metal jacket ammo, as recommended by the dealer. If your looking for a big gun that packs a very big punch, think about this gun. I have carried everything from a Kel Tec .32 to a 9mm, but nothing that packs the punch this Glock has. While its classified as a compact it is a little harder to conceal than the smaller guns I have carried. I am nearly 70 and like most senior citizens have arthritis and other ailments that caused me to be reluctant about buying this big of a gun. I am very happy to report that it is now my primary conceal carry weapon, and shooting it is enjoyable. - WALTER
Great gun. Shoots and feels like an H&K but costs hundreds less. Very nice trigger, smooth but not too light. I have not had a single ftl with any ammo. Not a light gun and not my favorite for ccw, but I wanted a full size 40S&W for home and travel and this gun is perfect. One of the best values around. Look at it before buying a Beretta, S&W M&P or other guns in that price range. You will be impressed. - C. W.
This is an amazing all metal carry pistol. Weighs in just over 20 oz, and is very shootable. I can hit man-size targets all the way out to 30 yds, which is amazing for a pistol this size. The trigger is all Kahr, and smooth as glass with a crisp break. I love the fact Crimson trace makes the replacement laser grips, rather than the system that hangs off the end of the barrel. I have the Elite model, which rounds all edges for super smooth holstering and easy mag changes. All in all, I'm still amazed you can get a 40 S&W in a package this small that's built like a tank, yet carries so well inside the waistband. - J. G.
