SpeerŪ, complete with a fresh new look, continues to offer the best options for law enforcement, personal protection, handgun hunting and training ammunition. Based on the performance and track record of the legendary Speer Gold DotŪ Ammunition, which continues its dominance of the law enforcement community, Speer has proven its reliability for tough jobs. This reputation has made it the #1 duty ammunition on the market today. To put it simply: it's the best.
I was skeptical when I opened the first box, but the more of this ammo I fire, the better I like it. I have never had a jam or a misfire in hundreds of rounds fired from my P229R. This is a perfect workhorse ammunition for the practice range and matches well to the feel of the corresponding Gold Dot JHP round for when you\'re out and about. - M. R.
Excellent ammunition! Great components, consistent accuracy through short barrels and good attention to design has made this one of the best rounds in my cabinet. I use it primarily in a Seecamp LWS .32acp. It works perfectly, without any hiccups at all. It's worth the extra cost!! - B. T.
Most gun scribes will tell you the .25acp is not enough cartridge to defend yourself with. I agree there are more effective cartridges, but if you would like to be shot with a .25acp, especially with the Speer Gold Dot hollow point, step up to the plate and volunteer. I fired the Speer 35 grain Gold Dot hollow point into a Dallas Yellow Pages, and it penetrated 1030 pages. Not bad. Having been a nurse for three years, I have also personally seen the damage a .25acp can do, and it's not pretty. Even when it does not completely penetrate the skull, it sends secondary skull fragments into the brain, doing incredible damage. Granted a 1/4 inch bore is not as intimidating as a 1/2 inch bore, but one shot from this little demon should change a determined attacker's mind pretty quickly. Do be prepared for followup shots. That's why auto pistols have clips holding more than one round. I greatly prefer my .25 pistol to nothing, and I'm also a 5th degree black belt. This "mousegun" extends my range substantially. - H. T.
