Taurus pistols have had a long and distinguished history. The well known and popular Taurus 92 is modeled after the same sidearm issued to our armed forces, but with improvements to enhance reliability, durability and accuracy. Taurus is also innovating in polymer-frame handgun design with the Millennium Pro series of pistols which feature a manual safety and the unique Taurus Security System. Taurus also produces a full line of small frame pistols for maximum concealability and maximum reliability.
Taurus Revolvers have been widely recognized as the best in the industry for more than seven decades. In that time, Taurus has pioneered the art of the wheelgun with features like the yoke detent, full length ejector rod and the Taurus Security System and with guns like the famous Taurus Raging Bull series of hunting handguns. As the century turned, Taurus took revolvers to a new level with the introduction of Taurus Total Titanium. These lightweight, full-power handguns remain as the best that can be gotten.
Lost this gun in May this year as snow was nearly gone in Northern Wisconsin while putting out trail cameras in an area of big hills and bluffs. It came out of the cheap holster on my backpack . I searched for two afternoons and never found the gun. I looked down this week while checking trail cameras and saw the gun. A little rust on the end of the barrel. Used a fine steel wool and lots of oil. Rust mainly gone. Fired gun after cleanup from twenty yards off- hand and hit four inch bull four out of five shots. I am not all that good with a pistol. Great gun!! -
Great pistol if you are looking for a full size. I like this one better than the Beretta, the safety is on the body not on the slide, easier to operate. Grip seems to be slightly thinner also, ( as for me anyway ).... 17 rd. mag is hard to load, I can struggle to get 13-14 in by hand, 16 with a mag loader.... Just not able to get that 17th rd. Maybe it will loosen up after some wear. If that 17th round is your selling point, don't be discouraged.... Approx. $200 less expensive and a lifetime warranty. - JAMES
The Taurus PT22 Poly is a good little gun, it is small and compact but has enough grip to hold on to. The double action only trigger pull takes getting use to but it is easier to shoot fast than you might think. I would suggest that you take down the gun and replace all of the factory oil with quality rem oil before taking it to the range as the factory oil is mostly for corrosion protection. I like the fact that the mag has an external follower peg that allows for easy reloading. The pop up barrel is a nice feature to have as the slide springs are extremely strong so racking the slide is not going to happen. It has the easiest take down of any semi-auto pistol I have ever owned and the barrel is so short that you can clean it out with just a wire brush. - EVAN
my wife bought this from able ammo. i had been wanting one for a long time. she got it for my birthday. i put 500 rounds through it without a hickup. no failure to fires, or failure to ejects. felt great and was very accurate. i had 2 small issues. first one was, one of the magazines is loose in the grip and won't hold the slide open when empty. it's a problem with the clip, not the gun. i also had a slight problem field stripping it. when i tried to take the camlock off of the front, it was hard to work out and i wound up letting the spring pop out and it flew across the room. after i shot it and went to strip it again it seemed a bit easier. the problem did not affect performance. i have shot many different brands from high end to bottom feeders. this one runs with guns costing 2-3 times as much. i highly recommend it. great gun at any price. - ANDREW
