I just purchased the Ruger 10/22 All-Weather .22 rifle along with two of the Butler Creek 25 Round Smoke Magazines with the steel lips. Before going to the range, I fully loaded each of the magazines, inserted them into the rifle and manually cycled all of the cartridges without any problems. I did notice that one of the new magazines did not always push the last cartridge loaded back all the way to the top of the magazine, so I squirted a tiny amount of WD-40 which eliminated that problem. At the range I used the cheapest .22LR lead ammo I could find and had no problems at all with one magazine, but the "sticky" one failed to feed twice when firing at the fastest speed that I could muster. I then loaded the "sticky" magazine with high velocity, copper coated .22LR cartridges and could not get it to mis-feed again with the next three fully loaded magazines (75 rounds). Although I was skepticle reading the earlier review, I can honestly say that I'm VERY happy with these magazines... |

I'm a police firearms instructor, and I recently I bought three of the Butler Creek, 25 round, smoke, steel lips magazines for my new Ruger 10/22. All three of these magazines failed to feed, and when they did, would only feed one round before the next round nose dived into the magazine. I went to the Butler Creek website to find out how I could return them, and all they have is a phone number, which I tried repeatedly with no results. I would not recomend these magazines to anyone... |
