I recently purchased a Colt New Agent with a Crimson Trace laser guide built into the grip. Naturally I had to go and break it in. I originally loaded it with Blazer Cleanfire .45 ACP rounds. I shot low at 10 yards even though it has a laser guide built in. (I've only been shooting casually for a couple of years so I guess I'm still a newb). The next time I went I used American Eagle and wouldn't you know it, I shot low again at 10 yards. I thought maybe the gun was sighted incorrectly. I then remembered I had a box of HPR's, so I filled a magazine and wouldn't you know it, 2 bulls eyes and the other five were to the right with a grouping of about 3 inches. Maybe I was shooting worse than normal because the gun does have a kick and only a 3" barrel and now I'm getting used to it; so, I decided to repeat the test. Same results. The HPR Brand consistently had better groupings and they actually felt better than the others I've tried. There's definitely something to this brand. (Next week I'll test with LawMan ammo and I'll see what happens but I suspect that this brand will yield better results.) I just wish these were $20/box. - JOHN
Great ammo, one downside. This bullet sits a bit too high in the casing to fit in a .44Mag Desert Eagle magazine and does not have the correct amount of power to properly cycle a desert eagle either. Should work just fine in a revolver, break barrel, lever action, or bolt action firearm. - MICHAEL
I ordered 2 boxes of these on 2/27/15. It is now 3/7/15. I was told to allow up to 5 days for product to be shipped. The whole country has been snowed in so I do understand the delay, but did hope to receive an email or phone call at least. I have ordered from Able before and was extremely impressed with their speed of delivery and product. Here is hoping UPS is on the way and my order is upgraded from ordered to shipped soon. I will use this company again. - GENE
It's not as clean as Blazer 'Clean Fire' ammo, but it's way cleaner than Federal, Winchester, Remington and Lawman.
The one thing I noticed about these bullets was their consistency.
Each shot had the same recoil, no 'sparkler' ignitions, no duds and my grouping was much getter.
IMO, it's worth the extra $3-$4 dollars a box.
I'd buy a case (20 boxes) if you could get the price down to $450 a case or lower; for now I'll just finish my older ammo and ration the HPR. - JOHN
