CORBON/GLASER(DAKOTA AMMO Silver Glaser Safety Slug Ammunition Glaser 40 S&W 115 Grain Round Nose For over 30 years, Glaser Safety Slug has been the perfect choice for use in populated, urban areas. Glaser's composite design uses a special thin-wall jacket, and precision compressed lead shot core with a soft polymer tip. This construction provides optimum balance between penetration and fragmentation. These round nose profile guarantees feeding reliability. Stopping power is maximized by the complete dispersal of the bullet energy into the intended target with immediate shock and trauma.
This rapid fragmentation delivers the energy to a large area. Reduced recoil allows a fast recovery for follow up shots if necessary. This makes Glaser the best choice for defensive situations.
Glaser Blue penetrates five to seven inches in International Ballistic Wound Association protocol testing, while SILVER penetrates eight to ten inches in the IWBA testing protocol.
SILVER: Glaser SILVER is made up of #6 shot. With the Silver load, you get much larger segments than with Blue; deeper penetration and controlled energy release.
Both loads reduce the possibility of over penetration through the intended target. They provide for an added margin of safety. A missed round is much more likely to break up on an interior wall and dump its energy rather than proceeding unabated into an adjoining room. The light fast bullets reduce the felt recoil and are excellent loads for the small compact carry guns and snub nose revolvers. I purchased a package of these .40 S&W Silver rounds, and put them into my Springfiled XD(M). They fit, loaded, and shot beautifully, not a single missfire or jam. I wanted to be absolutely sure, so I went to a local gun show, and using my extra savings, purchased 3 more packages. I loaded up 9 into two magazines, and shoot all 18 rounds, and just like before, they shot beautifully. After waiting to get my tax refund, I purchased 4 more packages, and now use those very rounds in my XD(M) when I carry out of the house. These are expensive rounds, but well worth the cost, seeing as how I know that should the need ever arise for me to draw my weapon, this round WILL NOT fail me... |

These will NOT feed reliably in my S&W M&P .40 Compact whatsoever. Tried multiple magazines. Tried several rounds to make sure it wasn't a fluke or damaged. Will not chamber the first round without shaking or manually aligning. Tried normal fast snap I use for every other rounds (Speer, HydraShok, many others), even tried medium and slow manual. Tried at least 20 times, not a single one chambered on it's own. Don't want to try it by firing a live round and jamming anything. Have had the M&Pc for several months now, about 2000 rounds through it of all descriptions. This is the first one that had any problems, but the problems were doozies. Not recommended for that firearm. Their .38 version works fine in my revolvers, but I wouldn't trust in a semi. Too expensive to test fire sufficiently... |
