Trigger pull is excessively long. I had to pull almost to trigger guard before firing. After about 15 rds firing became unpredictable (i.e. sometimes wouldn't fire, other times would fire after holding trigger completely back. S7W replaced trigger mechanism at no charge. I haven't fired since repair, but, after initial experience, I wouldn't trust this weapon in a life or death situation. For an inexpensive, reliable self-defense weapon, I'd recommend Hi-point-not very pretty, but accurate and reliable.

Awesome handgun for the price! Had mine for about two weeks now and love it. The trigger pull on mine is much better than all the bad reviews I've read. Gun functions flawlessly and is super easy to take down and clean. Great sights and grip, two 14 rnd mags, can't be beat. Got mine for $280 out-the-door with the rebate from S&W. Fantastic gun!

Outstanding weapon! Just bought mine afew days ago, got it for $309. Plus since I got it before the end of the year I can get a $50 rebate or two free magazines for it. I think I'll get the mags! Finally got to shoot it today and it performed flawlessly. Not as much recoil as I expected and accurate! The trigger pull in my opinion is fine, everyone usually complains about it but I liked it. It's nowhere near as bad as the "haters" like to claim. Super easy to take down and clean, stainless barrel and slide. Feels awesome in my hand, for the price this is a serious bargin. Most gun shops are selling this for around $300, I've seen it on sale for $259 too. Mine was $330 out the door and if I get the $50 rebate back then only $280. Unbelievable gun for the price.

A very reliable, and accurate .40 S&W pistol and one that feels like an extension of your arm every time you shoot it.

I have been shooting handguns for over 45 years as a police officer and competitive shooter, and this pistol just amazes me with its simplicity and shootability. The trigger pull seems to be a little heavy out of the box, but one can get used to it quickly and do good work with the gun. Speer Gold Dot 155 gr. hits the target slightly low at 25 yds, but the 180 gr. loading is right on the money and seemingly more accurate, at least in my gun.

I have also achieved great results with 180 gr. cast bullets which also have the benefit of being cheap to practice with.

With the S&W rebate currently being offered, I believe this is the best deal in a .40 S&W pistol, bar none!

I am a newbie gun owner, and I have had this gun for a little over a year now. It is my first automatic handgun. I will say that I started out quite inaccurate with the gun. I persisted and read up on the weapon and shooting technique in general. I found that the hard trigger pull was causing me difficulty with my accuracy. However, I have been able to correct that with proper technique.

If you read on forums you will find people who say this gun is not accurate. I would beg to differ, as I am now putting one-inch groups on the target at 10 yards consistently. I have not had a failure/jam with this weapon after about 1000 rounds.

I believe this is a great weapon for carry, and I do so confidently.
