OTF knife from Smith & Wesson has an out-the-front mechanism. You just push on the slide button near the base of the blade and once you get the blade moving a little the spring takes over and shoots the blade out the front. The blade locks up nice and solid as it reaches full extension. To close the blade, you just pull down on the slider and lock it back into place. This is an automatic open and manual close knife. This nice inexpensive knife from Smith & Wesson has a stainless steel blade coated with titanium nitride, a black Zytel handle which provides maximum strenth without adding much weight. This model has a spear point tip. The knife has a sliding safety, a pocket clip and a glass breaker included.
