My dad was given one of these by a buddy of his and last year they went out to new mexico and killed 5 mule deer and 4 antelope with it. Two of the antelope were killed over 500 yards and the longest was 675 and my uncle held it right on his should so it definetly has some ass behind it. Its an amazing gun and im looking forward to buying one when i get a chance... |

Just bought a used H&R ultra rifle in 25-06, had never heard of them until I saw it in the ad. I paid 200$ for it with a crappy BSA deer hunter scope, cheap scabbord and elastic case holder that fits around stock butt. The rifle is in new condition. I put my leupold vari xii 3-9x50 on and went to the desert. 3 shots to center scope and then fired a test group. It shoots great to me, 3 shots tightly @ 100 yards inside 1-1/8" circle with 10mph wind using remington core lokt 100 gr psp. Cant wait to try again on a calm day, out shoots my ruger m77 tang, 270 any day! 26" heavy barrel lam. stock just like pic, get ya one! Im gonna get a 243 and 22-250 for the kids... |

I bought one of these rifles three years ago. I put a Nikon 3-9x50 scope on it and last year I shot an Arizona whitetail with it from about 350 yards. The UltraHunter is a very simple and accurate design. This is a rifle you can throw around and drag through the brush with no worries.
These H&Rs are great rifles for the price. I especially like the longer barrel that H&R supplies with the .25-06. A .25-06 needs a barrel longer than 24" to achive its ballistic potential, and it is hard to find many factory made rifles with a barrel longer than 22". H&R gives you a 26" barrel! They are the only firearms maker I know who gives you that much length on a stock rifle at no extra cost... |
