Brenneke Slugs are made to the highest standards, with the top in engineering,
aerodynamics, ballistics, and you-bet-your-hunt-on-it dependability and accuracy.
Brenneke Slugs can take on some of the most dangerous game the world has to
offer: bear, boar, lion, tiger, leopard, or even cape buffalo.
I have a mossburg 500 pump shotgun with a smooth bore. I use these brenneke slugs for deer hunting. I have my gun & scope sited in with these shells. I can keep a 3in pattern at 100yrs using a smooth bore barrel. I have such success that I an not thinking of getting a slug barrel for my gun. I have tested other slugs and never have had this great success. I only use the Brenneke 3in slugs. Best performance at fair price for what you get. - D. K.
If you want a bear stopper, this is the slug you want. Absolutely devastating to anything it hits. Extremely Accurate and bone-crushing power to boot. 1 3/8 oz. slug traveling a 1500 fps and leaving the muzzle at over 3000 foot lbs of knockdown power. Will penatrate deep and do considerable damage. I\'ve seen both Moose and Bear drop where they stood with this slug. I won\'t use anything else in bear country! - R. C.
This is for the reviewer who fired these slugs from an H&R singleshot. I fired these slugs from the same firearm and had the same results as you. Then I loosened the screw located on the forend and the problem was corrected. If that screw is tightened all the way, it puts too much tension on the barrel causing the slugs to impact low(every brand of slugs impacted between 6\"-8\" low, not just Brennekes) . If you release that tension, the point of impact rises. I had this same problem with my Rossi singleshots in 20 and 12 gauge as well. Now point of aim and point of impact are the same with all my singleshots(give or take an inch). The Brenneke 20 gauge slugs are excellent. Groups are tight and penetration is superior to most other brands. If you hunt with a smooth bore in 20 gauge, there is no better choice. - J. H.
